How do you stop your skin from itching when you have dry skin?

skin
Kristen H asked:

I do shower and bathe, and use the afterbath/shower lotions and creams, which helps the itch for at least twenty-four hours. But is there anything to help my dry skin from itching more than 24 hours, like creams or other remedies? I know it’s not a disease, but a dry skin condition.

Try baby oil while you’re in the shower daily. Also, maybe at night you can take a bath with baby oil in it. It really helps dry skin…also try to keep hydrated by drinking lots of water…helps dry skin too.

You probably have exzema. I have exzema. It sucks. Try using one of the Aveeno soaps for sensitive skin. Not the body wash, the soap. And use a buffpuff body scrubber to exfoliate your entire body when you shower. Then use a heavy duty cream or lotion like Cetaphil. This should help. And drink lots of water.

Instensive cream. Go to an Afro shop and buy some of the cream that they use, or people with diabetes use. I had the same thing, I just cant remember the name of the cream

The tip my great grandma gave me for my dry skin:
drink a gallon of water a day.

I admit, I don’t always make it there but I try, and it has done miracles for my skin.

shea butter lotions are good as is lanolin based lotion. You probably need to drink more water also.

Sometimes in the winter I experience dryness/itching on my legs. The best remedy I’ve found is a lotion called Cornhuskers. It’s nothing fancy; the scent isn’t wonderful, but it works, at least for me. I put it on after drying off from a shower and any other time I feel the itching. Usually once or twice a day during the worst times.

Dry skin conditions can be the result of a fungus (Candida). The candida fungus is very subtle. Try an antifungal ointment on a patch of the itches, and if it prevents the itch from coming back for more than 24 hours in that area then that might tell you something.

Check out – the yeast link – for more basic info about this candida (yeast) fungus.

If you get athletes’ feet, nail fungus, thrush, vaginitis or have an immune or blood sugar imbalance, these are indications of a yeast syndrome.

Dry skin always so irritating…I hate it so much…I suggest you try using Zenmend Derma Lotion from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com.

Zenmed has no side effects and it’s non-irritant to the
skin. It’s proven to works fast and it povides Maximum
results! It’s certainly a good lotion to prevent further
    outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Atopalm. This dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now. (Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It’s pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.
