What product should a fair skinned person use for darker skin?

I’m currently using Dove everyday moisturiser/tan and it has made me slightly more tanned but I’d still like to be darker. I need something that’ll suit my mild eczema. Would using a bottle of any moisturiser/tan that reads “medium/dark skin” be alright on fair skin, or should I try out a proper fake tan?

What is causing my skin to go dark and ashy?

I was a light skinned person and now after my iching stoped(allergy)my skin was getting darker and darker and about 1-2 wks my skin stared to get really ashy. I have tried just about every kind of medicated lotions and powder,they do not work. The only thing works is baby oil,and that works for about 2-4hrs and i would have to repeat until it`s time to go to bed.
